On a summer evening in Lincoln, Nebraska, what began as a family barbecue turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 31-year-old Earl Richardson, a Black/African American male. On June 20, 2014, Richardson was at his cousin's home in the 200 block of South 27th Street, where a dispute erupted with another man.
