In the summer of 2021, a family visit in Omaha, Nebraska, took a tragic and unsettling turn, culminating in the death of Jose Valenzuela, a 40-year-old Hispanic male. On July 16th, Valenzuela was fatally shot in an incident that would lead to the arrest of his own son and raise complex questions about mental health.
