On the night of January 30, 2018, Omaha police were dispatched just after 11 p.m. to a home near North 65th and Jaynes Streets after a 911 caller reported that her son had shot her husband. Officers arrived to find William Bunderson Sr., 79, a White/Caucasian male, fatally wounded by gunfire; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors described the block awash in emergency lights as investigators secured the residence and began collecting evidence.
