On May 9, 2014, 24-year-old Jeffery Juantez Hines was fatally shot outside his ex-girlfriend's residence on the 200 block of 16th Place Southwest in Birmingham, Alabama. After the shooting, his brother transported him to Princeton Baptist Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities identified 27-year-old Melvin Anthony Burks as the suspect in the shooting. Burks was charged with murder and surrendered to police on May 27, 2014. However, in 2016, the charges against ...Read More
