James Womack, a 32-year-old Army veteran, was shot and killed on September 18, 2017, during a road rage incident in Omaha, Nebraska. The incident occurred near 60th and L Streets after an altercation with another driver, Michael Benson. Womack, who served three tours in Iraq before becoming a truck driver, confronted Benson, who then shot him twice in the back. Womack later died from his injuries.
