In the late summer of 2021, the life of a 29-year-old Caucasian female, Jamie Nau, was brought to a tragic and violent end in Omaha, Nebraska. On the evening of August 22, 2021, police were called to the area of 83rd and Miami streets following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jamie deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds.
The investigation into her death quickly focused on her boyfriend, Brandon Boone.
Accounts suggest a tumultuous and abusive relationship preceded the fatal encounter. It has been reported that the day before her death, Boone had left Jamie and her belongings on the street. The following day, he sought her out, which culminated in the fatal shooting. This act of violence cut short the life of a young woman remembered by her family and friends.
In the days that followed, the Omaha Police Department located and arrested Brandon Boone. He was initially charged with first-degree murder and several weapons-related offenses. Ultimately, Boone pleaded guilty to lesser charges of manslaughter and weapons charges. For his role in Jamie Nau's death, he was sentenced to a prison term of 34 1/2 to 37 1/2 years.
