On the night of July 24, 2010, Wilmington police responded to a shooting incident on the 1000 block of West 6th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Hispanic male victim, identified as 29-year-old Jose Anthony Hernandez, suffering from gunshot wounds. Hernandez was transported for medical treatment but tragically succumbed to his injuries the following day, July 25, 2010.
