On May 27, 2014, 28-year-old Alphonso L. "Izzo" Boyd was fatally shot in the 1100 block of Conrad Street in Wilmington, Delaware. Boyd, a husband and father, was returning to his residence when the incident occurred. He was survived by his wife, Bessie "Pooh" Boyd, and children Shainnah, Dontaé, and Jay'Brianna, as well as stepchildren Tiqua, Nejia, Yah Yah, and Zi.
