Jabari Saunders, a 30-year-old man from Wilmington, Delaware, was fatally shot on December 1, 2015. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, shortly after Saunders was reportedly involved in an altercation near the intersection of 24th and Market Streets. Witnesses described hearing gunshots, and upon arriving at the scene, authorities found Saunders suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
