Deshon Sellers, 17, a Black male, was walking the Eastside streets of Wilmington on a cold Monday, February 16, 2015, when gunfire tore through the quiet around East 24th and Lamotte. Officers responding to calls found him wounded at the corner just off Carter Street; he would not survive. The loss hit the neighborhood hard and joined a grim cadence of shootings that winter in the city.
