Matthew W. Kennedy, a 43-year-old man from Port-Penn, Delaware, was found dead on May 31, 2015, in what was later determined to be a homicide. Kennedy, known to have lived in the rural area of southern New Castle County, had been reported missing a few days prior to his body being discovered. Authorities initially launched a missing person investigation after friends and family became concerned when Kennedy did not show up for a scheduled appointment.
