In the warm early hours of a July morning in 2017, the life of Kevin M. King, a 36-year-old Black man from Ellendale, Delaware, was tragically cut short. The events unfolded in the parking lot of the Silver Lake Estates housing complex in Milford, Delaware, where an argument between friends escalated into a fatal act of violence. Shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017, a dispute broke out between King and his friend, Don R. Martinez.
