On September 15, 2017, 28-year-old Donnell Davis of Laurel, Delaware, was reported missing by his family. Investigations revealed that Davis was last seen at a residence in the 23000 block of Dove Road in Seaford, where he had a verbal altercation with 47-year-old Michael C. Moore, the homeowner. During the argument, Moore shot Davis with a handgun. After being shot, Davis fled the residence but succumbed to his injuries outside.
