On June 8, 2021, Newark, Delaware police responded to a shooting incident at a residence on Ethan Allen Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old James Harland deceased inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation quickly revealed that the shooting stemmed from an altercation between Harland and his 26-year-old roommate, Desmond Elliott.
