On August 18, 2019, at approximately 1 a.m., 21-year-old Donte M. Hammond was fatally shot at the Red Roof Inn on South College Avenue in Newark, Delaware. Responding officers attempted lifesaving measures, but Hammond was pronounced dead at the scene.
