In the late summer of 2019, the life of Donte Hammond, a 21-year-old Black male from Newark, Delaware, was tragically cut short. On the evening of August 18, 2019, gunfire erupted at a hotel located in the 1100 block of South College Avenue, resulting in a double shooting.
