On January 23, 2008, in Marshfield, Maine, 41-year-old Aaron Fred Settipani was fatally shot while seated in his Jeep outside the home of 29-year-old Katie Cabana. Inside the residence, Cabana was also shot and killed in the presence of her three young children. The perpetrator, 25-year-old Richard W. Widdecombe Jr., was Cabana's former boyfriend. He was subsequently charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of Cabana and Settipani.
