In the early hours of September 23, 2013, Heidi Pratt, 49, and her partner, Michael Kitchen, 51, were fatally shot in their home at 331 Oakfield-Smyrna Road in Oakfield, Maine. The assailant, Matthew Davis, entered their residence armed with a firearm, shooting both victims before setting the house on fire. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots around 4:00 a.m., followed by the sight of the home engulfed in flames.
