On January 14, 2016, Alicia Faye Ouellette Gaston, a 34-year-old mother of three from Windham, Maine, was fatally shot by her husband, Noah Gaston, in their home. Noah claimed he mistook Alicia for an intruder in the pre-dawn hours, asserting he fired in self-defense as she ascended the stairs.
