On January 17, 2018, 79-year-old Paul Thomas Hilenski Sr. was fatally shot in his Bridgewater, Maine, home. The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call around 6 p.m., and upon arrival, deputies found Hilenski deceased inside his residence. The following morning, Maine State Police arrested 37-year-old James Peaslee of Easton, Hilenski's stepson, charging him with murder.
