On January 25, 2021, authorities conducted a welfare check at a residence on Hovey Road in New Sharon, Maine, where they discovered the bodies of 42-year-old Jessica Dapolito and her longtime partner, 55-year-old Robert Dapolito. Both had died from gunshot wounds in what was determined to be a domestic violence homicide-suicide, with Robert identified as the perpetrator.
