On the evening of November 29, 2022, Portland police responded to reports of gunshots near Sherman and Mellen Streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old Tyler Patrick Flexon suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Maine Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The following day, the medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.
