On October 25, 2023, Lewiston, Maine, experienced a devastating mass shooting that claimed 18 lives, including that of 45-year-old Stephen M. Vozzella. Stephen was participating in a cornhole tournament at Schemengees Bar & Grill when the tragedy occurred. A dedicated member of the Deaf community, he was among four deaf individuals who lost their lives that evening.
