On February 19, 2024, at approximately 8:10 a.m., Waterville police responded to reports of a shooting outside a residence at 18 South Grove Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Justin Iraola of Winslow suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, Iraola was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that he died from multiple gunshot wounds, classifying the death as a homicide.
