Murdered

On March 17, 1990, Fairview, Montana, Police Chief Orville Edwin Sharbono, 60, was fatally shot while serving civil papers. The assailant ambushed Chief Sharbono from a side door, shooting him in the lower back. Despite his injury, Chief Sharbono returned fire, wounding the attacker. However, as Chief Sharbono lay on the ground, the assailant approached and shot him in the head, resulting in his death.
