In the small community of Saint Regis, Montana, a quiet winter day in February of 2021 was shattered by a tragic event that claimed the life of 7-year-old Ayden Dascher, a White male. On February 6th, the young boy was found deceased from a gunshot wound in what authorities would later describe as a likely murder-suicide.
The devastating incident also resulted in the death of Ayden's younger brother, 4-year-old Brayden Dascher.
The boys' father is believed to have been the perpetrator in this horrific event. It is reported that he shot both of his young sons before turning the gun on himself.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they discovered the two deceased children and the hospitalized father, who later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into the shootings pointed towards a domestic-related murder-suicide, leaving a family and a community to grapple with the immense loss of two innocent young lives. As the case was determined to be a murder-suicide, with the sole suspect also deceased, no arrests were made.
