On a summer day in August 2019, the life of 11-year-old Caden Daniel Lacunza, a White male, was tragically cut short. The young boy from Toston, Montana, was on a family camping trip near Radersburg, a small community west of Townsend. The setting was idyllic, a place for family bonding and enjoying the outdoors. Caden was by a creek, occupied with cleaning fish, when the serene atmosphere was shattered by the sound of a gunshot.
