On May 16, 2017, Deputy Mason Moore, a 42-year-old officer with the Broadwater County Sheriff's Office, was fatally shot during a traffic stop on Highway 287 near Three Forks, Montana. Deputy Moore, originally from Manning, South Carolina, had dedicated his life to public service, serving in various law enforcement roles and as a volunteer firefighter.
