Randall Keller, a 58-year-old resident of Hamilton, Montana, was found dead in his home on December 28, 2019. His death was ruled a homicide, resulting from blunt force trauma to the head.

The Ravalli County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into Keller's death. Evidence at the crime scene suggested foul play, and authorities quickly identified a suspect: Keller's roommate, 32-year-old Logan Dallas Christopher.
