On February 12, 2015, 34-year-old Charles L. Johnston of Winnemucca, Nevada, was fatally shot at the Apollo Motor Inn in Twin Falls, Idaho. Johnston had traveled to Twin Falls to assist Crystal Turner, a 30-year-old resident, in finding a place to live. Unbeknownst to him, Turner conspired with 23-year-old William Dean McGrath of Filer, Idaho, to rob him during his visit. The robbery plan escalated when McGrath shot and killed Johnston at the motel.
