On July 10, 2005, Kevin Lofty was shot and killed in the early morning hours in the 3522 block of 22nd Street, SE, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 5:54 a.m. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene and found Lofty suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and no suspect has been publicly identified in connection with the case.
