Bevin T. Chippewa, a 45-year-old man from Blackfoot, Idaho, was found dead on December 27, 2019, in what authorities determined to be a murder-suicide. The Bingham County Sheriff's Office conducted a welfare check at a residence northwest of Blackfoot after concerns were raised about the occupants. Upon arrival, officers noticed someone sitting in a chair inside the home and forced entry to assess the situation.
