On January 21, 2020, Helen Beckwith was killed in a murder-suicide in Boise County, Idaho. The incident occurred at a home near Garden Valley. Law enforcement responded to a call about a shooting early that morning. Upon arrival, they discovered Helen Beckwith and her son, Joshua Beckwith, deceased from gunshot wounds. Investigators believe Joshua shot his mother before turning the gun on himself. The motive for the shooting is believed to be a domestic dispute.
