Megan Amaya, a 45-year-old resident of New Plymouth, Idaho, was found dead in her home on May 15, 2022. Her death was ruled a homicide, and the Payette County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) investigated the incident as a double homicide.

Amaya was found deceased alongside 45-year-old Eric Ortega. Both victims had suffered gunshot wounds. The PCSO requested assistance from the Idaho State Police in the investigation.
