On February 23, 2014, 53-year-old Mark Lewis Kelso was fatally shot in his Canterbury, New Hampshire home. The incident was initially reported as a possible suicide, but a subsequent investigation revealed that Kelso's death was a homicide.

State Police were called to the scene after receiving a 911 call about a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Kelso deceased inside his residence. The investigation into Kelso's death was led by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
