What began as a night out with her boyfriend, Jeremy Winslow, at the Manchvegas Nightclub ended in a senseless act of violence that left a community in mourning. Inside the nightclub, a minor confrontation
occurred when Winslow bumped into a group of three men. Despite his attempts to dismiss the encounter, the situation escalated. The hostile trio followed Hall and Winslow as they tried to leave the establishment. As they drove away in their Jeep, the men reportedly punched the windows of the vehicle. It was in the area of Old Granite Street that a single gunshot was fired. The bullet struck Hall in the back, and she tragically died in Winslow's arms moments later.
The investigation into Hall's death moved swiftly. On March 4, 2019, authorities announced the arrest of 34-year-old Justin Moura. An autopsy confirmed that Tanya Hall's cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. Moura was subsequently charged with second-degree murder for recklessly causing her death under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life.
In March 2020, Justin Moura, then 35, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter. He was sentenced for his role in the death of Tanya Hall.
