Sophia Bonfiglio, a 26-year-old woman from Manchester, NH, tragically lost her life on New Year's Eve 2023 due to a gunshot wound to her torso. Police responded to a reported shooting at an apartment on Amherst Street around 2 p.m. that day, where they found Bonfiglio suffering from the wound.
She was immediately transported to Elliot Hospital, but despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead around 4:30 p.m.
An autopsy later confirmed the cause of death as a single gunshot wound, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Following an investigation, 26-year-old Tyler Cook was arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with Bonfiglio's death. Prosecutors alleged that Cook recklessly caused the death of Bonfiglio, leading to his arrest and subsequent court proceedings.
