Arson results in the deaths of 2 people
On October 24, 1978, a tragic fire broke out at 541-547 Chestnut Street in Manchester, New Hampshire, resulting in the deaths of 53-year-old Pauline Miller and 51-year-old Ray Blanchette. The Manchester Fire Department responded to the scene and later determined that the fire was intentionally set, classifying it as arson. Both Miller and Blanchette succumbed to smoke inhalation during the fire.
