On Thursday, September 22, 2005, at approximately 6:30 a.m., gunshots shattered the quiet of the 3200 block of 6th Street, SE. When Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the scene, they found Gregory Sam suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
The investigation into his death was swiftly launched by the department's Violent Crimes
Branch. Despite their efforts, the motive for the shooting remains elusive, and the individual or individuals responsible have yet to be brought to justice. In the years that have passed since the incident, detectives have continued to seek assistance from the public, hoping that someone will come forward with the crucial piece of information that could break the case open.
To encourage potential witnesses to step forward, the Metropolitan Police Department has offered a substantial reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Gregory Sam's death.
