In the early evening of August 20, 2020, Kadeem Moore, a 29-year-old Black / African American man, was fatally shot in Providence, Rhode Island. The incident occurred at approximately 7:38 PM at a location known as Parenti Villa or Tobey Manor, located at 25 Tobey Street. When Providence Police responded to reports of a shooting, they discovered Moore lying face down with apparent gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Investigators have sought the public's assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for Moore's death. Security footage from the area captured a small, dark-colored SUV in the parking lot just before the shooting. The video shows a heavy-set, dark-skinned male exiting the front passenger side of the vehicle. This individual was wearing a white T-shirt and red exercise pants with two white stripes down the sides. He was observed walking toward the area where Moore was located, out of the camera's view, with his left hand in his pocket.
Shortly after, the same man was seen running back to the SUV, carrying an object in his left hand. He re-entered the vehicle, which then quickly fled the scene. A second suspect, who was driving the SUV, was also captured on video and appeared to be wearing a light-colored shirt. The Providence Police Department has continued to seek information regarding both the suspects and the vehicle involved in this homicide. At this time, there have been no arrests announced in connection with the murder of Kadeem Moore.
