In the early morning hours of November 30, 2020, the life of 33-year-old Carl Bryant, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Providence, Rhode Island. The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. at Roger Williams Green, where police responded to reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Bryant unresponsive in a courtyard.
He was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Another individual, a 50-year-old woman, was also a victim of the violence that morning. She was found in a nearby apartment with a gunshot wound to her arm, having been struck by a stray bullet. She was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Bryant was believed to have been living in Providence at the time of his death, although he also had ties to Brockton, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.
In the wake of the shooting, Providence Police detectives began their investigation into the city's latest homicide.
