On August 28, 2021, 24-year-old Daniel Zairis of Providence, Rhode Island, was fatally shot outside the Revel Lounge on O'Connell Street. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. as Zairis was leaving the nightclub. Reports indicate that he was targeted by a shooter who fired multiple rounds, striking him several times.
