On the evening of June 9, 2023, a 21-year-old Hispanic/Latino male named Julian Garcia of North Providence, Rhode Island, was shot and killed in Pawtucket. The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. near the intersection of Barton and Montgomery streets. Garcia was working, delivering food, and was walking back to his vehicle after making a delivery when he was shot multiple times.
First responders arrived at the scene to find multiple shell casings, indicating the violent nature of
the attack. Garcia was rushed to Miriam Hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
