In the winter of 2018, a planned robbery during a drug deal in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, turned deadly, claiming the life of 30-year-old Corey James Zephier. The male victim was a father, remembered by his family as great and proud. His death on January 5, 2018, was the tragic outcome of a series of events that would later be described by authorities as a "drug rip gone bad."
