On November 22, 2020, 40-year-old Justin "Ohitika" Little Hawk, also known as Thomas Leroy Hoof, was involved in a fatal incident in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Reports indicate that after an argument, he was shot by 38-year-old Phillip Pond. Following the shooting, Little Hawk was transported to the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 11, 2020.
