In the quiet city of Stanley, North Dakota, the life of 49-year-old Douglas Martin, a Caucasian male, was brought to an abrupt and violent end on the evening of January 12, 2019. Responding to a 911 call about a shooting at approximately 8 p.m., deputies from the Mountrail County Sheriff's Office arrived at Martin's residence to a grim scene. Inside, they discovered Martin's body; he had been fatally shot.
