On May 27, 2020, Officer Cody Holte, 29, of the Grand Forks Police Department, was fatally shot while assisting deputies from the Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office in serving an eviction notice at an apartment on South 17th Street in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
