On a tragic day in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the life of 55-year-old Kevin Nelson came to a sudden and heartbreaking end. On May 17, 2018, police were dispatched to an apartment building after receiving reports of possible gunshots. Inside one of the units, they discovered a grim scene. Nelson was found deceased, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. His 72-year-old mother, Carole Glomstad, was also found in the apartment, alive but injured.
