Kevin Nelson, a 55-year-old resident of Grand Forks, North Dakota, tragically died on May 17, 2018, in what initially appeared to be a complex incident involving his mother. Police were called to their apartment building after reports of possible gunshots. Upon arrival, they found Nelson deceased with a gunshot wound and his 72-year-old mother, Carole Glomstad, injured.
