Harmon Barton Patridge, a 39-year-old police officer from Bessemer, Alabama, met a tragic end on December 14, 1910. He was a member of the Bessemer Police Department and his death occurred in the line of duty.
Officer Patridge was shot and wounded during a raid on a local crap game being held in a railroad yard. Initially, it was believed that he was recovering well from his injuries. However, his condition took a dire turn due to blood poisoning, which ultimately led to his death.
