In the winter of 1910 in Bessemer, Alabama, a police officer named Harmon Barton Patridge, a 39-year-old male, found himself in a fateful confrontation that would ultimately lead to his death. On the evening of Wednesday, December 14th, Officer Patridge was involved in a raid on a local railroad yard where a craps game was taking place. During the raid, he and a fellow officer successfully apprehended one of the gamblers.
