In the quiet, early morning hours of Tuesday, April 24, 2007, the stillness of a Southeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood was broken by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 12:40 a.m., Inesha Miller was shot in front of a residence at 2504 Pomeroy Road. First responders rushed to the scene and transported her to a nearby hospital, where she clung to life for three days.
