James W. Taylor, a 50-year-old deputy with the Winston County Sheriff's Office in Alabama, was fatally shot on July 7, 1982. At the time of his death, Deputy Taylor was working the night shift and was stationed near the Winston County Jail in Double Springs, Alabama.
